Currently I've only implemented the character to float around the surface and then dive while holding the action button. The water slowly brings the character back up to the surface when not diving, and the faster you jump into the water, the further you'll sink. So next is just the 3D underwater swimming controls which can be configured to be inverted in the x and/or y movement. The camera movement will also have to pan to look up/down ahead of the character depending in which direction the character is swimming.
I'm also ironing out some bugs I'm coming across left over from the previous version; so any problems users are experiencing now will hopefully all be gone in the release of Version 2.

After two long approval processes (it was declined the first time around for the use of trademarked words in the documentation... even though it's perfectly okay to do so) we finally have the Classic Third Person Engine (well, the 'Third Person Character + Camera Controller') asset available for purchase in Unity's Asset Store! The asset consists of two main scripts (character and camera), a character model and a level to play around in. Can be controlled with both a mouse + keyboard setup or with a gamepad. The documentation is on the store page for you to read, along with a web player demo and various other helpful bits of information. I'm really excited to see my asset available for purchase and more-so to see any amazing games in the future being built on top of it. Thanks to everyone who showed their support and interest and here's hoping it's a big success. So what are you waiting for? Go buy it and spread the word! HAHA! |
